J1772 EV charger mount

A simple wall mount that keeps my charger and garage door remote together.

I was always misplacing the garage door opener, and I didn't want to install a separate outdoor keypad just to solve that one problem. So I combined it with something that already needed a home: the EV charger. This mount keeps the J1772 handle and a universal garage door remote together, exactly where I need them.

Why I made it

The charger needed a proper home, and I kept misplacing the garage door opener. I could have installed an outdoor keypad, but that felt like adding more hardware for a problem I could solve with the remote I already owned. Combining the two gave everything a permanent place without adding another device to the garage.

What it holds

The lower opening docks a standard J1772 charging handle, while the cable can hang below it instead of ending up on the floor. Above the charger is a slot sized for the common 893LM, 893MAX, and 971LM universal garage door remotes, plus a small shelf for anything else I want to keep close by.

Printing and setup

I recommend PETG for this print. A coiled charging cable puts more load on the mount than you might expect, and the retaining clip benefits from PETG's extra strength and flexibility. The MakerWorld profile is set up as a one-plate print with 0.2 mm layers, 2 walls, and 15% infill. After printing, check the charger and remote fit before mounting it, then use wall hardware that is appropriate for the surface and the weight of the charger and cable.
